A couple of days ago, I received an e-mail from Shiela at Dog Health Problems, a Website that features a high number of unique visitors per month and focuses on problems related to the canine community. Her note included the following information:
We stumbled on your blog while searching for Dog Health Problems related information. We operate the largest Dog Health Problems website featuring more than 30,000+ blogs. Our site averages 200,000+ unique visitors per month. As a kind note We have featured your blog at Blog Awards.
At first I wasn’t sure as to why this blog might have received such an award, but upon thinking for a moment about this, realized that it was probably due to the posting entitled of December 30, 2009 entitled Incurable? What the hell... in which I detailed the passing of our dog Cleo, a loving Chocolate Lab who was a victim of incurable Lyme disease.
Cleo was always on of those who was easy to classify as a happy dog, gregarious and friendly to a fault. My son would play with her for hours, the classic boy and his dog scenario, and he was generally the one to feed our dogs in the evening, and had over the years taught them a few simple tricks.
Cleo had personality, and would talk to us, carrying on conversations with each of us. We understood her, and she understood us. And she is missed, that’s for sure.
So thanks for the honor, Sheila, both on behalf of Cleo and this blog. We do appreciate the recognition.
